The Institute library holds about 25.000 bibliographical units. As to their contents, they are stored on the premises of individual sections of the Institute (Lexicological Section, Etymological Section, Section for Historical Dictionaries, Dialectological Section, Terminological Section).

The data on the materials acquired after 1991 are included into the COBIB union database, part of the COBISS system. There is a card catalogue for older materials, located at the Institute as well as at the SASA Library, a unit of which is also the library of the Institute.
